34th World Food Day Observed

Picking up the globally raised slogan “Family Farming: Feeding the World, Caring for the Earth” for celebrating World Food Day-2014, the year designated by the UN General Assembly  as “International Year of Family Farming” the 34th World Food Day was marked in Nepalgunj by the civil society activists.

More than 90 social activists especially working in the fields of human rights, food rights, women rights, child rights etc. have joined the morning march started from Setu BK chowk in Nepalgunj city which concluded with the corner assembly reaching at Dhamboji chowk of the city.

The program was organized by Right to Food District Network in partnership with RRN, INSEC, FIAN-Nepal, NGO Federation-Banke, Federation of Nepalese journalists, INRUDEC-Banke, NNDSWO including other organizations. Similarly, there was participation from District Agriculture Development Office (DADO) and Nepalgunj Municipality.

Mr. Rajendra Pradhan, Senior Agriculture Development Officer at DADO, Mr. Lok Bahadur Sunar, Executive Officer of Nepalgunj municipality and RtFN district coordinator Mr. Ghanashyam Acharya had addressed the corner assembly at Dhamboji chowk, Nepalgunj.  The program was conducted with the financial support of RRN and INSEC.
